So are you completely bored during activity hour? Why not try doing something new – joining in on a St. Francis College Intramural game.
Most students at St. Francis College are always on the go. Whether it be working or simply concentrating on school, there doesn’t leave much time for fun.
This is the opportunity to experience something new and have fun with it. There is not much you can do in school during your activity hour.
Sure, you can always catch up on schoolwork, but most of the time that hour is our only escape from the mundane school routine. So why not play basketball instead?
Intramurals are an awesome way to pass the time and to make friends. They take place Monday from 12:15-1:45 and Thursday from 11:10-12:20 during activity hour in the Genovesi Center on the Fourth Floor.
Usually, basketball is played, so bring your game. Obviously, this is not a team so you do not have to be amazing to play. It is all for fun.
Usually it is guys playing, but there is no discrimination. Ladies, what are you waiting for? This is your invite!
If you do not have the time or talent to join a sports team at school, this is an opportunity for you. It is a way to get to know people and let loose during school. No tryouts or pressure – just excitement.
Matt Rosado, a St. Francis student, said: “It’s my only way I get to play usually with my schedule. It’s good because everyone is pretty organized and there’s no fighting for the ball. You get to know people just by playing games with them, so it’s good socially.”
Even teachers play a game or two occasionally. So it is also a good way to bridge the gap between student and professor. Don’t let intimidation stop you from playing. No one is going to judge because everyone is there for the same reasons – to have fun and play ball!
