The Terriers women’s volleyball team will look to get back on the right track this afternoon when they take on the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights. The Terriers are coming into this match riding an 11-game losing streak, which they hope will come to an end today.

It has been a rough go of it thus far for the Terriers. After yesterday’s tough defeat at the hands of the Sacred Heart Knights, the Terriers are now (2-16) on the season. Lucky enough for the Terriers the NEC conference isn’t too strong this season. If they can get their act together, they can certainly make up some ground in conference play.

This afternoon the Terriers will take on conference rivals Fairleigh Dickinson University who come into the matchup with an overall record of (2-14). In the Knights most recent outing they lost to NEC power house LIU Brooklyn in straight sets.

The Terriers won’t be the only team trying to break a lengthy losing streak – as the Knights have a seven game losing streak of their own. Both teams are in the midst of disappointing seasons. The Terriers are in desperate need of a win and if they are going to win a match anytime soon today would be the day.

Last season these teams squared off twice. Each team picked up one victory a piece in a couple intense matches. The Terriers took the first meeting three sets to one at home and the Knights took the next meeting three sets to two in their home.

This match can go either way for the Terriers as it proves to be a pretty even matchup. The Terriers have had problems scoring of late. They will certainly need their big guns to show up down the stretch if they are going to finish up the year strong.

There is plenty of volleyball to be played and the Terriers certainly have time to right the ship. If this team can find a groove and rattle off a couple of wins in a row, it would give them some much needed confidence. Today’s affair should be a great test for both sides. It has the makings for yet another nail bitter between the two programs.
