The St. Francis College women’s volleyball team will be playing their second consecutive home game on Saturday against the Sacred heart Pioneers.
The Terriers are (2-23) this season and will be looking for their first win since September. St. Francis will be going up against their NEC division rivals, the Sacred Heart Pioneers. So far this season the Terriers are (0-9) against division foes.
Sacred Heart is also looking to end a losing streak, though it is on a much lesser scale than the Terriers at only four games. The Pioneers come into this game with a record of (7-15) while going (2-7) against their conference.
SFC will have to lean on the play from sophomore outside hitter Dominique Gerard and Senior Ali Long. Gerard leading the team in kills (131) and Long leading in digs (152) will have to play at their best for the Terriers to have a chance at a victory.
Sacred Heart is only (1-7) on the road this season, so the Terriers will have an advantage on this Pioneer team that plays poorly on the road. Hopefully this element will turn the tide in favor of the Terriers who look to end a season high 18 game losing streak.
With the season winding down SFC is looking to end on a high note and end the losing streak. They will be entering Saturday’s contest with a win percentage of only .80. The game will be at 1 pm in the Genovesi Center in St. Francis College.
