Women’s Basketball Preview: The lady Terriers are all set to take on the Wagner Seahawks this afternoon.
Terriers are coming off a huge win against the Red Flash beating them 90-76. Today they will need to stay focus.
Last time these two teams met the Seahawks handed the Terriers their first loss at home. Terriers had one of their worse shooting performances in that game.
The team shot 32.3% from the field. If the Terriers want to get some revenage they will need their key players to step up.
Junior guard Eilidh Simpson has been a consistent factor all season long. Last game against the Red Flash she scored 27 points and was 10 for 15 from the field.
Both Sophmore guard Leah Fechko and Junior guard Jaymee Veney both finished the game with a double-double. Leah finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
As for Jaymee she finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. If the Terriers want to beat the Seahawks they will need to learn to from their mistakes.
Seahawks Freshman guard Jasmine Nwajei stole the show when she played the Terriers. Jasmine scored 27 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
In Jasmine last five games she has scored 20 or more points.
Terriers will need to do a better job locking her up on defense.
Another player to look out for is Seahawks Sophomore guard Jordyn Peck. She averages 19.4 points per game.
Terrier could use the win today to keep pace with the other teams in the NEC. Right now they are tied for fourth place but are one game behind St. Francis University and Mount St. Mary’s.
