The St. Francis Brooklyn women’s basketball team will be looking to snap a season worst seven game losing streak today as they visit Mount St. Mary’s.
With both teams struggling and having nearly an identical record it’s easy to say that this game is up for grabs. The Terriers enter this contest with a record of just (3-11) while Mount St. Mary’s is currently standing at (3-10).
The Terriers are coming off a loss in their last game against the Bryant University Bulldogs at home 71-55. They came up short after rallying from an early double-digit deficit in the first half. It was another late game collapse for the Terriers as execution and defense was suspect toward the end of the game.
Mount St. Mary’s will be looking to add to their newly started win streak. After ending a four game slide against Wagner College the Mountaineers will be playing with confidence and added motivation to continue against a team that they would view as subpar.
Players to watch in today’s matchup will be the guards on both teams. Look for Terriers’ senior guard Katie Fox to have an important role in this game on offense and defense as she will be guarding Jacqueline Brewer of the Mountaineers. Brewer is currently averaging 12 points per game and attempting over five threes a game.
This Mountaineer team loves the three-point ball as they attempt 17 a game as a team. Also senior forward Jaymee Veney of the Terriers might also look to be aggressive in the post and try to take advantage of this guard heavy mountaineer lineup.
The game is set for tip off at 4:30 pm and will serve as a chance for the Terriers to finally end this losing streak and get in the win column in the New Year. This will also be the start of four straight road games for the Terriers as they look to improve their position in the NEC.
