Preview: Tonight the St. Francis Terriers will try to push their win streak to nine in a row as they take on Mount St. Mary’s.
The lady Terriers crushed LIU Brooklyn at the Barclays Center 69-48 on Saturday afternoon. It was a big win for them they improve their NEC record to 3 and 0.
It will be the second time this season the Terriers will play Mount St. Mary’s. The Terriers beat Mount St. Mary’s 52-47.
Mount St. Mary’s had the lead going into the second half but they couldn’t control their personal fouls. They comitted 24 personal fouls 13 of those came in the second half.
The Terriers were 18-22 from the free throw line.
Not only did the personal fouls hurt them but so did the turnovers. Mount St. Mary’s turned the ball over 20 times.
This game looks to be good one. For the Terriers look out for Junior guard Eilidh Simpson. She has been playing really well this season.
In her last game she put up 17 points and was 5-8 from the field.
It will be interesting to see if Junior forward Sarah Benedetti is active tonight. In the closing minutes of the last game she appeared to have rolled her ankle.
They took her out and she never came back in but by then it was clear the Terriers were going to win.
If Sarah doesn’t play tonight it will be a big loss. She averages 10.3ppg and 3.9rpg.
As for Mount St. Mary’s keep an eye out for Senior guard Sydney Henderson. She gave the Terriers some problems last time.
She had scored 16 points and was able to grab 11 rebounds. For the season she’s averaging 18.2ppg.
The Terriers should look out for Junior guard Jacqueline Brewer. She maybe only averaging 9.6 ppg but in her last two games she is shooting 7-11 from beyond the three point arc.
These two teams played a great game last time so we should expect another one tonight.
