The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers men’s soccer team defeated University of Rhode Island 2-0 tonight, improving their record to (6-0-2) overall.
St. Francis Brooklyn’s senior midfielder’s Cyril Coisne and Vincent Bezecourt each scored a goal in route to yet another victory. Bezecourt came out red-hot early on in tonight’s contest as he made the games first shot on goal in the sixth minute. At the games completion he totaled seven shots of the 15 total shots made.
Terrier’s senior midfielder Cyril Coisne scored the first goal tonight just a minute and forty-nine seconds after returning from halftime. Off a penalty kick, Coisne scored his first goal of the season and became the 13th different Terrier player to score a goal this season.
After numerous attempts to score, Bezecourt found the net with three minutes remaining in the contest off an assist from junior forward Yussuf Olajide. He made tonight’s final goal, bring the Terriers to a 2-0 win.
Red-shirt senior goalkeeper Jack Binks continued to protect his net as he picked up another shutout win, totaling two saves.
The blazing Terrier’s dominated the field as they took 15 shots as opposed to Rhode Island’s three. This match brought Rhode Island to a 4-4 overall record and are now on a two game losing streak.
St. Francis Brooklyn will look to continue their unbeaten streak as they take on University of Albany back home at the Brooklyn Bridge Park, Saturday, September 26th at 1 pm.
