The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers men’s soccer team (1-3-1) will host the (3-1-1) NJIT Highlanders tonight.

It has been a few weeks since the Terriers’ only defeat this season and they face some tough competition, as the Highlanders have gotten off to a more successful start.

In their most recent match, the Terriers tied the Hartwick College Hawks 1-1 with their first goal by junior defender Dominick Falanga in the second period. The two teams went into double overtime, but never broke the tie.

Preceding the tie, the Terriers suffered a three-match losing streak.

The Highlanders just defeated the (1-3-1) Niagara University Purple Eagles 3-2, but dropped their previous match to the (4-1) Rider University Broncs 0-1.

The Terriers have scored 3-of-49 shots so far, while the Highlanders have scored 6-of-57.

Terriers sophomore midfielder Djiby Sarr, senior midfielder Leo Folla and Falanga have each scored one goal.

Freshman forward Rene White and junior forward Mamadou Guirassy have scored two goals each for the Highlanders and senior midfielder Stephen McGeever has scored one.

Terriers senior keeper Seth Erdman has recorded 20 saves this season, while Highlanders keepers Victor Pujades and Marco Luna have accumulated 17 saves.

The Terriers have recorded five yellow cards and the Highlanders have recorded six.

The two teams will battle at Brooklyn Bridge Park-Pier 5 at 7 pm.
