The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers women’s basketball team (7-19, 4-11 NEC) will face the (12-14, 10-5 NEC) Saint Francis PA Red Flash on the road tonight at 7 pm.

The Terriers have not had an easy year, but have improved over the course of the season. They defeated the Robert Morris University Colonials 72-65 in overtime Saturday and also had a victory over the Bryant University Bulldogs – the best team in the Northeast Conference at the time – by one point last Monday.

The Red Flash will be some difficult competition for the Terriers, as they won their past four games. They defeated the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds 72-64, the Wagner College Seahawks 87-74 and the Mount St. Mary’s Maryland Mountaineers 73-64.

This winning streak started on February 8 when they beat the Bulldogs 85-72, while SFC’s one point win to the top NEC team came as a surprise.

The Terriers have averaged 58.5 points a game this season on 531-for-1424 (37.3%) shooting from the field, 155-for-503 (30.8%) from behind the arc and 305-for-399 (76.4%) from the foul line.

Their opponent has averaged 75.4 points a game on 669-for-1798 (37.2%) shooting from the field 270-for-832 (32.5%) from behind the arc and 353-for-493 (71.6%) from the foul line.

The home team has been a little better at rebounds this season, averaging 39.6 a game while the Terriers have recorded an average of 34.4.

The two teams faced each other on January 11 and the Terriers fell 76-83 on their home court.

Senior guard Leah Fechko leads the Terriers with 14.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game on 71-for-85 (83.5%) free-throw shooting. She also has also recorded 63 steals this season.

Freshman forward Maria Palarino averages nine points, four rebounds and two assists a game. Sophomore forward Alex Delaney has averaged 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists a game. Junior forward Olivia Levey brings in an average of eight points and 4.5 rebounds a game.

Red Flash freshman guard Jessica Kovatch leads her team with an average of 22.5 points, 3.8 rebound and 1.7 assists per game. Redshirt junior guard Katie Reece records and average of 9.7 points and 3.6 assists a game.

Sophomore guard Maya Wynn scores an average of 9.3 points and makes 2.2 assists a game. Senior guard Aisha Brock scores 9.3 points and makes 2.4 assists per game.

The teams will tip in the Red Flash’s DeGol Arena at 7 pm.
