Shots were missed and saved for two and a half hours on both sides Sunday, as the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers and Bryant Bulldogs men soccer teams tied 0-0 in double overtime.

The Terriers are now (9-4-3, 5-0-1 NEC) and the Bulldogs are (2-10-3, 1-2-3 NEC) as a result of the Smithfield, Rhode Island game.

The Terriers remain undefeated in conference games and have not allowed a single goal in their six NEC games.

Bryant senior defender/midfielder Pedro-Lucas Ferreira took a header shot in the third minute, but aimed too high. His teammate freshman defender James Cochrane took another shot in the 10th minute, but it was saved by Terriers junior goalkeeper Roberto Bazzichetto.

Bazzichetto made two more saves in the 13th and 14th minute. The goal attempts were shot by Bryant senior defender Chris McCormick and senior midfielder/forward Curtis Orth.

Senior midfielder Salvatore Barone took the first shot for the Terriers in the game’s 14th minute, but sent the ball flying above the net.

Orth also shot the ball too high for Bryant in the 23rd minute. The 5’7 senior attempted to score again in the 27th minute, but the shot was blocked by the Terriers’ defense.

Bryant’s Nathaniel Brown started the second half by missing a wide shot.

Sophomore Djiby Sarr took the second shot for the Terriers in the 52nd minute, but it was saved by Bulldogs goalkeeper Nick Stewart. The sophomore attempted score again eight minutes later, but the shot was blocked by the defense.

Barone then took another shot for the Terriers and Brown took another shot for the Bulldogs. Both were blocked by the defense.

Sarr took another shot, which went over the net, and Barone took the Terriers’ last shot of the half in the 70th minute and missed again.

Bryant’s Alexander Wrona missed a high shot in the 72nd minute.

In the first round of overtime, Bryant’s Thomas Binder missed a high shot.

In the second round, Stewart saved a shot from Sarr and Bryant’s Orth and Wrona missed one goal attempt each.

The Terriers will finish the regular season with a match against the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds next Sunday. The rivals will match up at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5 at 1 pm.
