The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers women’s volleyball team dropped a four set match to the Rider University Broncs Wednesday night.

The Terriers lost the first two sets by the scores of 23-25 and 19-25 respectively. They managed to sneak past the Broncs 25-20 in the third set, but fell again by the close score of 23-25 in the final set.

The Terriers now stand at (1-4) and the Broncs have improved to (2-2).

The Terriers hit 11.6 percent en route to 49 kills, 72 digs, 43 assists and seven blocks. The Broncs hit 12.7 percent, recording 46 kills, 73 digs, 43 assists and nine blocks.

Terriers senior middle hitter Niehely Sosa hit 12.5 percent en route to 12.5 points, 10 kills and one dig. Senior outside hitter Gabrielle Herrera hit 22.6 percent, accumulating 12 points 12 kills and two digs. Senior outside hitter Domenique Gerard recorded 11.5 points, 10 kills and 15 digs.

Sophomore setter Angela Hudelson hit 25 percent, recording 8.5 points, four kills, 13 digs and 38 assists.

Rams senior outside hitter Ryan Ackerman hit 19.4 percent en route to 12.5 points, 11 kills and 14 digs. Sophomore right side hitter Hailey Riede hit 20 percent, accumulating 12.5 points, 10 kills and one dig. Junior right side hitter Jennifer Borio hit 7.5 percent, recording 10 kills and two digs.

The Terriers will host the Fordham University Rams Friday for their home opener. The match will begin at 4:00 pm in The Pope.
