Final: Terriers get the much needed win and beat the Red Flash 73-44.
Recap: This was a huge win for the Terriers after losing their three previous games. Terriers came out tonight firing on all clyinders.
They were 10-19 from behind the three point line. It seemed like everyone was hitting the three ball.
At one point in the second half Junior forward Lowell Ulmer nailed a three. It was his third one this season.
Lowell finished with 7 points.
Tonight proved how deep the Terriers bench is by scoring 40 points.
Freshman guard Yunus Hopkinson and Senior guard Aleksandar Isailovic both scored 11 points coming off the bench.
Aleksandar averages 1.3 rebounds a game but tonight he was able to grab 6 boards.
Aleksander out rebounded Terriers Junior forward Jalen Cannon. Jalen had quiet night only scoring 5 points and hauling in 2 rebounds.
The Terriers starters did do their part though.
They were lead by Senior guard Ben Mockford. He got things going early on in the game by hitting two three’s which caused the Terriers to go an offensive run.
Mockford scored the game high 16 points. He is now four points away from getting his 1,000th career point as a Terrier.
Tonight we saw Junior guard Brent Jones getting back in the swing of things. Jones was in complete control tonight he was able to find his teammates open.
He finished the game with 11 assists and only turned the ball over three times. In the middle of the second half the Terriers held a 40 point lead over the Red Flash.
Not only did the Terriers offense dominate but their defense was on point.
They were able to score 22 points off of turnovers. Terriers made it difficult for any of the Red Flash players to score.
Terriers had seven blocks tonight. The Red Flash just couldn’t get anything going.
It was a tough for game for them they shot 33.3% from the field. Even hitting free throws was just a struggle.
The Red Flash were 8-16 from behind the foul-line. Junior forward Earl Brown was under lockdown in this game.
For the season Earl averages 8.6 rebounds a game but tonight he was only able to grab 2.
As a team the Red Flash got out rebounded 24-38.
The only Red Flash player to get anything going was Sophomore guard Greg Brown. He scored 11 points and was 4-5 from the field.
The win puts the Terriers in fifth place in the NEC conference.
For the season Terriers are now 16-12 overall and 7-6 against NEC teams.
Terriers next game will be on the road this Saturday and they will take on first place Robert Morris University at 4pm.
