Former St. Francis men’s basketball star and St. Francis all-time leading scorer, Jalen Cannon (class of 2015), has been dominating in a professional league in Italy as he was named Lumicom A2 West Most Valuable Player for the month of February.
Cannon joined the Fortitudo Argigento basketball team back in 2017 and has been leading the team in scoring and rebounding ever since. Currently averaging 17.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, Jalen has overperformed those expectations last month as he averaged 20.8 ppg and 12.3 rpg while shooting 60.5% from the field and 90% from the free throw line.
Along with that, Jalen has achieved four double-doubles in all four games played in that month. His best game was played against Latina as he scored 27 points while grabbing 17 rebounds in just 43 minutes played.
The former Terrier finished his career with the school back in 2015 as the all-time leading scorer with 1,720 career points and 1,159 career rebounds. Cannon is the only player in St. Francis college basketball history to end their career with at least 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
Some other accolades of his was being named the NEC player of the year in 2014-15, was named twice to the All-NEC First Team and earned the All-NEC Second team once. He also finished his rookie season as a member of the All-NEC Rookie team.
