Basketball: The St. Francis Terriers beat the FDU Knights 57-55. The Terriers are now 11-2 and have won seven straight games.

Final Recap: Tonight’s Terriers win was a wild one. It wasn’t looking good for the Terriers who at one point were down eleven points with 6:46 to go in the second half.

This team showed some strong resiliency by climbing all the way back. After making poor shot selections in the first half the Terriers were able to regroup. With 2:42 left to go the Terriers went on a 8-2 run.

The FDU Knights couldn’t stop the Terriers in the paint. They had 30 points in the paint.

Terriers Junior forward Jessica Kaufman had 14 points and shot for 7-16. She was even able to grab 8 rebounds.

But it was Leah Fechko who was the hero of the game. She hit the game winning layup putting the Terriers up 57-55 with 12 seconds left in the second half.

Leah finished the game with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Out of those eight rebounds four of them were offensive rebounds.

The Terriers took advantage of the FDU Knights by putting up 14 second chance points.

It was a great win for the Terriers but it was even a tougher loss for the FDU Knights.

The Knights had this one in the bag but the 14 turnovers is what killed them in the end. The team had a better shooting percentage than the Terriers.

The Knights shot 38.5 percent from the field and were 10-12 from the free throw line. Senior forward Desiree Crawford played a great game but it wasn’t enough.

She finished the game with a double-double for the second time this season. She had 13 points, and 12 rebounds. Desiree even had 2 blocks.

She was defiantly alteranting the Terriers shots. Junior guard Amanda Andradres finished with a game high 9 assists.

But it was her game high 5 turnovers that hurt the Knights. The Terriers were able to get 17 points off turnovers.

The Terriers win tonight improves their record to 11-2 and now have a seven game winning streak.

This Saturday the battle for Brooklyn begins. The Terriers will play LIU Brooklyn who is 2-11 this season.

The game will be played at the Barclays Center and it will start at 12pm.

Halftime: At the end of the first half the Terriers are down 34-25 against the FDU Knights.

The Terriers need to limit their the shots from beyond the arc. They are shooting 2-for-16 from 3-point range.

The team is shooting fine from 2pt distance they are 8-for-16. Junior forward Jessica Kaufman has 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Senior guard Jasmine Robinson got her 200th assist of her career.

The FDU Knights played some of their best basketball in the first half. They held the Terriers to just 31.4 percent shooting from the floor and 12.5 percent from beyond the arc.

As for the FDU Knights they shot 52.2 percent from the field.

If the Terriers want to get back in this game they will need to stop Senior forward Desiree Crawford. She has 13 points and 5 rebounds.

The Terriers will need take better shot selections if they want to win this one.

Preview: Tonight the Terriers will look to extend their win streak to seven straight game as they take on the FDU Knights.

The Terriers are coming off an impressive comeback win against Mount St. Mary’s. They beat them 52-47.

With a win tonight the Terriers will match last seasons win total. They had 11 wins last season.

This season has been a great improvment for the Terriers. Junior forward Jaymee Veney has been playing great this season.

She averages 13.7 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Last game Jaymee had 14 points and 8 rebounds.

In her last eight games she has scored in double figures.

As for the FDU Knights this season has been a nightmare. They are 1-11 and are on a seven game losing streak.

The teams defense has been horrible. Opponents average 73.7 points against them.

The FDU Knights offense has also been sloppy. The team averages 17.3 turnovers a game.

The Knights do have some impressive players. One player is Sophomore forward Brianna Thomas she averages 15.4 ppg and is shooting 60 percent from beyond the arc.

Brianna has had three games this season where she scored 20 or more points.

Another player for the FDU Knights is Senior forward Desiree Crawford. The 5’11 forward averges 7.3 rpg and 2.5 block per game.

In her last game she had a season high 5 blocks.

This FDU team should not be under estimated. The Terriers will need to play hard in order to get their eleventh win of the season.
