Men’s basketball falls to Monmouth 73-58 on Dec 10th, 2013.

The Terriers can look no further then their first half struggles, as they suffer their fifth loss on the season dropping them to 5-5 on the season.

After the first half of play the Terriers were down by 21, and lacked defensive intensity as well as any type of offensive continuity.

Even though they fell short, the Terriers played a much better second half.

They were led by freshman guard Sheldon Hagigal who had a game high of 23 points, shooting 10-20 from the field.

Junior forward Kevin Douglas added 13 points, but it proved to be not enough as Monmouth pulled away.

Monmouth had a balanced scoring attack as they had four players in double figures.

They were led by Junior guard Deon Jones, who had 20 points along with 7 rebounds. Also Junior guard Andrew Nicholas had a nice game with 19 points and 8 rebounds.

The Terriers just could not manage to come back from the brutal start they got off to. Even though they had a very nice second half they need to put a full game of clean basketball together in order to win.

What to look forward to is an upcoming game against Canisius at home, as they hope to get back into the win column, after dropping two games in a row.
