Muppets made over takeover the box office

Three decades after The Muppet Show went off the air, the Muppets proved they can still capture the attention of America in their newest film, The Muppets.

After experiencing a unique childhood in which he is the only muppet in the community, Walter discovers "The Muppet Show" and quickly becomes addicted. Years later, Gary and his girlfriend, Mary (Amy Adams) surprise Walter with a trip to Los Angeles to see the Muppet Studios.

The tour was not what Walter expected. However, he stumbles upon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper,) who has recently purchased the Muppets studio and plans on destroying the property to drill for oil; unless the Muppets can come up with $10 million to reacquire the land.

The film not only brings a sense of nostalgia to the older audience, it also provides the unique ability to entertain their children as well. Instead of ruining the show for the older generation, it provides a fun-filled environment for the entire family.

The Muppets, which was co-written by Segal and Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) also provides a unique style of humor where the characters know they are in a film and discuss certain scenarios, but never once break the fourth wall, providing an additional source of laughter.

Along with the heaping amount of laughs that the film provides, there are also several musical numbers in the film, which also become another source of humor in the film. One of the most surprising parts about the film is that Segal has an above average voice as well as a lack of two left feet.

There are plenty of cameos in the feature as well, including James Carville, Neil Patrick Harris, David Grohl and Alan Arkin.

While creator Jim Henson unfortunately passed away in 1990, the film features many of the original acts that he created and the Muppets he voiced, including the iconic Kermit the Frog, sound identical to their voices Henson created.

The film is a must-see for any family or those who wish to re-live their childhood.
