President Brendan J. Dugan of St. Francis College has issued a statement regarding the suspensions of five students of the college.

In the statement the President said that with his support the Provost has suspended five students for allegedly violating the St. Francis College Code of Conduct and the college is continuing with its ‘independent review’ of the circumstance leading to these suspensions.

He then added that ‘other outside agencies may also be reviewing this matter’ and said because of these ongoing investigations and the college’s determination to protect the rights and privacy of all of our students, the college “is not able to offer more details at this time.”

President Dugan requested respect for “privacy of those involved’ and then asked that students “do not speak with reporters regarding these alleged events.”

Dugan said he will be communicating again as matters are resolved.

Here is the entire statement.
