President Barack Obama made it clear in his State of the Union address on Tuesday night that he intends to return job opportunities on American soil as well as restore the nation's economy this year.

"My message is simple: it is time to stop rewarding businesses who ship jobs overseas and start giving breaks to companies who keep these jobs in America," said Obama.
The unemployment rate in America for December 2011 was 8.5-percent, the lowest total since February 2009.
According to Obama, America lost four million jobs before he took office and another four million before his policies came into effect. In the past 22 months, however, over three million jobs have been created in America.
Among those who created job openings include the American auto industry, with nearly 160 thousand jobs created last year.
"On the day I took office our auto industry was on the verge of collapse," said Obama. "With a million jobs at stake I refused to let that happen. Today, General Motors is back on top as the World's number-one auto maker!"
Obama continued to attack companies who outsourced their jobs overseas, which in turn helped damage the American economy. He encouraged that the companies return production plants back to America and proposed a new tax system that would give companies a tax break for manufacturing in America.
"What's at stake aren't Democratic values or Republican values, but American values and we have to reclaim them," Obama said.
Obama also pleaded with community colleges and companies to work together to train Americans to learn several skills such as auto-repair and electric work.
"Join me in a national commitment to train 2.2 million Americans in skills that will lead the directly to a job," Obama said. "We need to give more community colleges the resources to become community career centers."
Obama also discussed the education level on the American youth. During his speech, Obama encouraged students to stay in high school and proposed that students should not be allowed to drop out of school until they either graduate or turn 18.
"When students are not allowed to drop out, they do better," said Obama.
Obama also wants to focus on increasing the quality of education for America. According to the president, some teachers spend money out of their own pocket in order to adequately educate the pupils . Obama recommended that some teachers should be rewarded while other teachers should simply be replaced.
High school's were not Obama's only target. With young adults entering the work place struggling to pay off a massive student loan, Obama said that congress needs to "stop the interest rate on student loans from doubling in July."
Increasing student aid, however, is not the solution due to the countries financial deficit.
"Colleges and universities have to do their part to keep costs down," said Obama. "If you can't stop tuition from going up, the funding you get from taxpayers is going down."
Obama also discussed the tax rate in America, stating that he favors a tax system proposed by billionaire investor Warren Buffet. According to Buffet, if a person makes more than $1 million in America, they should pay no less than 30-percent of taxes.
"Right now, Warren Buffet pays a lower tax rate than his secretary," said Obama. "People like me and members of congress should pay our fair share of taxes."
Obama addressed the 98-percent of United States citizens who make less than $250 thousand per year, stating that those citizens should not see a tax increase because they are the people who need relief due to rising costs.
"Asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary, that's called common sense."
