It is no secret that the life of an undergraduate student requires countless hours of studying and endless homework assignments.

Some students choose to actively participate in the student body by joining a sports team, club or organization on campus. However, there are a small group of students who do it all and maintain a full-time or part-time job.
Three students who represent this select group are Bobby-Gay Darlington, Matthew Delfino, and Alexis Acevedo.
Bobby-Gay Darlington is a senior at SFC. She works as a full-time Babysitter for the NY City Explorer. When she is not at work, Darlington is attending meetings and events hosted by the Leo Club, Psi Chi, Psychology Club, and the African Club. Most of the money that she earns is used towards her lunch and transportation to school.
Darlington said: "It is hard but picturing the end helps as well as doing deep breathing exercises to relax when I feel overwhelmed or tired."
Darlington is an overall "A" student and vows that planning ahead is the way to go. She said: "I study only for a few hours over a long period of time to prepare for an exam."
Matthew Delfino is a sophomore at SFC and a member of the track team. While the schedule for track practice is very demanding, Delfino finds the time to work part-time at the Career Center as a T-3 student coordinator. He is also a proud parent to his pet turtle named Jerry.
He has an incredible 4.0 GPA attributed to good time management skills and studying four hours a day. "It's all about time management. I prioritize what I have to do with when it's due," said Delfino. He plans to attend law school after graduating from SFC.
Alexis Acevedo is a senior at SFC. She works part-time as a Division Advisor at Uniqlo, a retail clothing store. Acevedo expressed that she strives to be independent and make her own money to support her expenses such as food, gas and credit card bills.
She is also the President of Psi Chi and a member of Alpha Sigma Sorority. Even though she has a busy schedule she also finds time to play with her two dogs Buddy and Max.
When asked about what advice she would offer to her fellow peers she said: "Definitely buy a planner and make sure you manage your time correctly. If you slack off one day, before you know it, you will be one week behind. Make sure to accomplish at least academic item a day."
"Knowing that in the end all of the hard work will pay off and the feeling of accomplishment is a big motivator for me," said Acevedo.
Bobby-Gay Darlington, Matthew Delfino and Alexis Acevedo are three shinning stars who represent much of the student body at SFC. Work, school and extracurricular activities could become exhausting but in the end it will all be worth it.
