New York Cares is coming to SFC for three orientations to get students registered as volunteers.
The program started in the 1980s was created by a group of friends that wanted to take action against social issues in New York City.
Now with over 50,000 volunteers yearly, it is your turn to hop on the bandwagon.
To become a volunteer just sign up and register online through the website here.
Once an account is created, attend one orientation session, and you are ready to sign up for volunteer events.
The orientations will be held in room 4316 on the following dates:
Thursday, October 31 at 6-7 p.m.
Monday, November 4 at 12:20-1:20 p.m.
Thursday, November 21 at 6-7 p.m.
New York Cares projects are in all five boroughs and there are over 1,000 volunteer opportunities offered every month.
With long and short-term projects available, New York Cares is a flexible volunteer service for anyone to work with.
It is open to all members of the community so stop by one of the three upcoming orientations to become a volunteer with one of New York City’s top volunteering organizations.
