In a hard-fought battle against Fairleigh Dickinson University, the Terriers Men’s Soccer team picked up a big time win in yesterday’s conference matchup in a score of 2-0.
This win makes their second straight shutout win this season. SFC has defeated FDU in every single matchup since 2016 and has outscored them 6-0 between the past 2 years.
The first goal in yesterday’s game was scored by Sophomore Defender Yoann Assoumin (’87) assisted by Junior Midfielder Julien Remiti. Shortly after the first goal was scored, Senior Forward Ali Tounkara (’89) scored the second goal of the game to secure the victory.
Freshman goalkeeper Andrea Lubbia contributed to the game as well as he made 3 saves in the win. 2 out of the 3 saves were back-to-back in the 56thminute of the game. Yesterday’s game marked Lubbia’s 4thwin this season as a starter.
SFC now holds a record of 3-2 in the conference and 6-8 overall. After yesterday’s victory for the Terriers, they are now currently 4th place in the Northeast Conference.
SFC will go back on the road next Saturday October 27 at 3:00 pm as they play St. Francis University (PA). With 3 games left in the regular season, they are hoping to get back into the playoffs after winning the NEC Championship 4 times out of the past 5 years.
