Recap: The indoor track and field team fell short last weekend as they finished in 13th place at the 2014 Mertopolitan Championship.
There were a total 15 teams that competed for the top prize. Southern Connecticut State came in first place with the score of 135.5 followed by Rutgers University who scored 123.5.
The Terriers as a team didn’t perform that well. Senior Adian Ewart finished sixth in the 60m and 200m. In the 60 meter he ran a 7.04.
Then in the 200 meter Adian crossed the finish line with a time of 22.50 seconds. It was tied with tenth fastest time in the NEC conference this season.
As for the men’s relay team they finished in ninth place. Freshman Luis Porto crossed the finish line for the relay team with a time of 11:10.54.
The field events team did perform slighty better. In the triple jump Senior Shawn Carrington finished in eighth place with a score of 13.40 meters.
In shot put is was Junior Johnathan Harris who finished in eighth place. He was able to throw for 14.32 meters.
Terriers will have a week to regroup. Their next event will be this Satuday February 8th it will be for the NEC Indoor Track Field & Championship.
