The Women’s Cross-Country team competed in the Northeast Conference Championship this past weekend, Nov. 2, 2013, in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
The Terriers ran tough, knocking down good individual performances on the challenging Immergrun Golf course, a course considered to be one of the toughest in the country.
Inelsi Diaz led her team and finished as one of the top runners in the meet as well, earning All-Conference honors.
Diaz finished in 14th place in a field of over 70 competitors, with a time of 20:17. Diaz was very pleased with her race.
“I could not have asked for anything more, I am grateful to earn All-Conference honors. I think the race is more motivation to run better during indoor season; for myself and for my team,” Diaz said.
Rosemarie Petrizzo was the second finisher for St. Francis, completing the course with a time of 21:40, good for 44th place. Petrizzo completed the course almost a minute faster than she did at the pre-conference meet on the same course.
Next was Jasmin Viera with a time of 22:15, Taia Thomas (22:40), Pathwahandi Silva (23:06) and Stephanie Morales (24:27).
The women’s team will be competing at Van Courtlandt Park on Nov. 23, 2013 at the ECAC championships.
