Friends Miraya Berke and Liang Shi once pondered why NYC did not have a dessert festival, and so they took it upon themselves to plan what is now known as Dessert Goals.
The NYC Dessert Goals: Spring Disco Edition takes place during the last two weekends of March.
According to the official website, Dessert Goals is a “celebration of all things decadent, and a party for the tastebuds”.
This year, for the very first time, a theme was introduced; dessert aficionados were encouraged to dress up in disco, floral, and/or 70s attire.
Dessert Goals took place at Sound River Studios in Long Island City and featured an array of vendors, including:
Becky’s Bites – specializing in chocolate covered cream cheese bites
Brooklyn Floss – featuring gluten free cotton candy
Danny Macaroons – gluten free coconut macaroons
Lady M Cakes – these crepe cakes consist of millions of crepe layers
mochidoki – traditional Japanese mochi icecream
Mojo Mousse by Johan – chocolate mousse crafted by Belgian chef Johan
Petee’s Pie Co. – pies, my personal favourite
Supermoon Bakehouse – known for its cruffins (yes, croissant muffins)
Tispy Scoop – you guessed it, liquor infused ice-cream
to name a few.
If you were unable to purchase tickets for the event this spring, no need to feel bitter – there might just be a summer edition!
