Graffiti artist Banksy has been creating art on the streets of New York City this month, resulting in a hunt for a new art installment every day.
The England-based artist’s new NYC project series is titled “Better Out Than In” and will take place during the month of October.
Every day somewhere in New York City, Banksy creates a new art installment on the walls for to the public to view.
All installments so far have been satirical and humorous, done in Banksy’s classic, yet unique, stenciling technique.
Not only is Banksy a well-known graffiti artist, he also is a political activist, film director, and painter.
He uses these outlets to project his message and shine light on political and social issues that need attention.
So far, the project includes provocative writings and figures interacting with their surroundings – including a street sign and a fire hydrant.
The latest installment includes a comical Occupy Wall Street piece on the streets in three locations including the Lower East Side, Williamsburg, and Bushwick.
The piece titled, “Random Graffiti Given A Broadway Makeover (An ongoing series)” with the words, “Occupy!: The Musical” is on the wall in the three locations giving graffiti in New York a new, exciting and humorous edge that can only be created by Banksy.
Be sure to look out for Banksy’s next installment. You may wake up and find his graffiti artwork on a wall near you!
