Akeem Johnson scored the first eight points for the Terriers who only trailed by one point going into the half against LIU. Johnson shot 6-for-8 from the field and finished the first half with 13 points and three rebounds.

Johnson scored the first basket of the second half briefly giving the Terriers a one point lead. He quickly got into foul trouble in the second half and had to sit out due to his three fouls.
Johnson returned to the game and had a monster dunk with just about nine minutes left on the clock to cut the Blackbirds lead to eight. In the second half Johnson shot 5-for-9 with 11 points. It seemed early on Johnson was going to lead the Terriers to a victory but foul trouble cost him some serious minutes.
Johnson finished the game with 24 points and eight rebounds shooting 11-for-17 overall. He hit both of his free throw attempts. Sloppy passes cost the Terriers the game.
After the game Johnson said: ” As a team we have to regroup and put more work in on defense for the rematch on Sunday.”
Akeem Johnson played 27 minutes in this game but his efforts could not pull SFC to a victory. The Battle of Brooklyn moves to the LIU campus on Sunday for a rematch.
