Saturday afternoon the St. Francis Brooklyn Men’s Volleyball Team (5-10) defeated the Urbana Blue Knights (1-18) in four sets however fell to the Daemen Wildcats (12-7) in three straight sets inside the Lumsden Gymnasium in Amherst, NY.

The Terriers dismantled the Blue Knights defense as they took the contest in four sets. In the third set, the Blue Knights fought to keep themselves in the contest as they took the set. However, the Terriers would kill the Blue Knights hopes in the fourth as they claimed the set, ending the contest.
Set 1: 25-14, set 2: 25-23, set 3: 19-25, set 4: 25-18
Freshman middle block James Henneberry finished with 13.5 points and 12 kills. Freshman outside hitter Bartek Zielinski finished with 12 points,11 kills and eight digs. Freshman outside hitter Johnny Ferrero finished with 11 points, 11 kills, and nine digs. Junior outside hitter Michael Basile tallied 11 digs and junior libero/setter Derrick Truong tallied eight digs, three blocks, and 36 assists.
The Terriers were dominated by the Wildcats as they fell in three straight sets. In the third set, the Terriers fought to stay in the contest however the Wildcats would not allow it as they edged the Terriers 30-32.
Set 1: 20-25, set 2: 16-25, set 3: 30-32
Freshman outside hitter johnny Ferrero finished with 11 points and nine kills. Freshman outside hitter Bartek Zielinski finished with nine points and eight kills. Freshman Timothy Walsh finished with five blocks and junior libero/setter Derrick Truong tallied eight digs and 23 assists.
The Terriers will be back in action on Saturday, March 14, as they take on Wentworth at 3 p.m. and NYU at 5 p.m. in New York, NY.
